Reduce and Recycle Waste

Waste management has become big industry.  One of our greatest resources for certain metals and energy (methane) is now our waste dumps.  Alkaline batteries continue to threaten impacts to water resources downstream of landfills.

By recycling and reusing materials, we all win.  Aluminum recycling is particularly effective due to the intensity of Bauxite mining and refining, and the energy required to convert Bauxite to Aluminum.  Other recycling methods appear to be more of a flexing of the sponsoring industry’s power to assert its right to existance without questioning the toxicity and energy economy behind the recycling transaction.
